Turquoise

Did you know that “turquoise” is derived from the French “urqueise”, which means “Turkish stone”? It was first brought to Europe through a Turkish nation, hence its name. It has a skye blue, blue green or apple green color. The color that we know as turquoise today was named after this stone.

The highest quality turquoise gems can be found in Northeast Iran. Other sources are Afhanistan, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Israel, Mexico, Tanzania and the USA.
